What is Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a type of bodywork using light touch as a means of encouraging the flow of cerebrospinal fluid through the central nervous system. This system was developed by John E. Upledger, DO, OMM and is used to:
Release restrictions in the body
Ease chronic pain
Relieve muscular tension
I was fortunate to train with Laura Sullivan, craniosacral therapist certified through the Upledger Institute. You can learn more about her practice HERE.
What to Expect
Your craniosacral treatment takes place on a comfortable bed in a quiet & calm room. I start by completing an assessment that identifies areas of restriction. Then, using very light touch (< 5 grams of pressure) we guide the body in such a way that promotes balance, relaxation, and movement. This gentle rhythmic movement is what brings about healing.
Sessions last approximately 60 minutes and can be done as single or multiple sessions depending on your particular condition.
